Paleo Carbs: eat them, especially if you Crossfit.
Not eating toxic, refined grains doesn’t mean you’re not eating carbs. You’re getting your carbs from real, nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. If you are active, like Crossfitters, and at a healthy weight, you also want to make sure you’re getting enough starchy carbs. This goes beyond sweet potatoes!
Yam, plantain, jicama, acorn squash, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, kohlrabi, beets, carrots, taro= all good sources of dense carbohydrates.
Remember, eating Paleo doesn’t necessarily mean low carb. It means you’re eating real, non-toxic, nutrient-dense carbs and less carbs overall compared to the than the Standard American Diet.
